Guruvayoor or the Dwarka of South is one of the most famous pilgrim destinations in Kerala as well as India. The small picturesque town is located in the Trichur district of Kerala. Pilgrims visit in whopping numbers to seek the blessings of the Lord. The place buzzes with pilgrims who are purified after spending few hours in the tranquil ambience of the temple. It is called Bhoolokavaikunta or heaven on earth and truly it acts as a balm. Devotees after visiting the temple feel like attaining true celestial bliss.

Guruvayoor Temple : Guruvayoor Temple is the most famous Sree Krishna Temple known here as Guruvayurappan or the Lord of Guruvayur. The temple also has the idols of Ganapathy, Sree Ayyappa and Edathedathy Kavil Bhagavathy. The walls of the sanctum sanctorum are decorated with exquisite mural and paintings. Inside the temple, there are four Deepasthambams made of brass. The temple is famous for its healing powers.

Vadakkkunnathan Temple : It is one of the oldest and the largest Shiva temples located in Thrissur city. The temple is a fine example of the Kerala architectural style dotted with lovely murals depicting various scenes of Mahabharata. The temple and the Mural paintings has been declared as a National Monument by the Union Government .

Kodungallu : Kodungallur is a busy city situated 32 km away from Kochi and 42km from Thrissur, near the Arabian Sea Shore. The beautiful port city is dedicated to Goddess Bhagwati. Famous for several spices, Kodungallar or the ancient Yavana priya was the cultural and religious gateways for Christianity, Islam and also for the foreign rulers.

Punnathoor Fort : The Punnathoor Fort is 2 kms away from Guruvayoor. It is famous for sheltering the elephants of Guruvayoor.

Arattupuzha : Arattupuzha located 14 kms south of Thrissur town is famous for Ayyappa temple. The 'Arattupuzha Pooram' is famous and hundreds of elephants take part in this festival. Arattupuzha Pooram is the oldest pooram festival of Kerala that takes place in the Malyalam month of Meenam.
